Clare Harris

I'm very sorry to record the death of Clare Harris, yesterday. Clare was the Burr House Matron when I arrived in the school in 1997, and retired four years ago in the summer of 2006. Those now in year 13 will remember her as a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful person who quietly looked after us all. She was a huge support to me when I became a housemaster. She'd battled against cancer while doing her job, and her life was no easier when she retired. She was one the bravest people I've known.
