Confirmation

The College's Confirmation Service for 2010 will take place on Sunday March 21st in the Parish Church and will be conducted by the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt.Revd. John Pritchard.

I am sure many of our young people were baptised as babies and young children and may be considering the next step on their journey to being confirmed. You might like to discuss with your son/daughter the possibility of being confirmed at this year's Confirmation Service. There is some preparation involved before this service and I am also very keen that the Christian faith is not just something for Sunday mornings. Part of their preparation would be to see the wider Church at work, for instance spending some time with a hospital chaplain at the local large hospital A&E department, a visit to a convent to spend some time with the nuns, a visit to the Reading Christian "drop-in centre" which helps to feed and clothe homeless people in the area, a visit hopefully from a prison chaplain and finally a visit to Christchurch Cathedral at Oxford. This should provide an insight into the wider work of the Church. As you can see, there is a lot to fit in before March so if you think your son/daughter might be interested, please could they make contact with the Chaplain (The Rev.) as soon as possible.
