Haiti appeal, (and birds) benefit

Lesley did hot dogs last night - 50p a time makes a small profit, which normally goes to swell House Funds and eventually pay for free events and the summer party. The £20 or so from last night has been donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal for the Haiti earthquake. We may be able to raise some more in various ways.

The small birds in our garden also benefit from all the fat drained from the sausages: mixed with birdseed it forms a high calorie cake for the bird table outside the kitchen window.

The thaw continues - the forecast is for above-zero temperatures for the rest of the week, and rain over the weekend. I saw a few blades of grass emerge yesterday.
