Confirmation Service

The purpose of writing to you at this early stage in the term, is to inform you of the College’s Confirmation Service which this year will take place on Sunday, 15^th May 2011. This will be conducted by our Area Bishop, the Rt. Revd. Colin Fletcher OBE.

I am hoping to begin the preparation sessions for this very soon. There are six based at the College and about four visits. These will be very informal and I hope to take the prospective candidates to visit different Christian establishments to help them understand the wider Church. For example, a visit to a Cathedral, a Convent, a Church based centre for the homeless and possibly to a large hospital to see the work of the Chaplaincy team there. These sessions will be on a weekly basis at a time to fit in with College life.

Could I ask you please to enquire of your son or daughter as to whether this is something they might like to explore with the possibility of them being Confirmed on the 15^th May.

I would be most happy to answer any questions you may have or for any of the students to come and discuss it with me themselves.

I do hope that we can get a good number of potential candidates this year.
