We had a twist to the evening last night when some serious work had to be done on the main water supply for the whole site. We planned to have showers early in the evening; everyone was offered a bottle of water for thirst and toothbrushing at bedtime. My offer of instruction in sailor's standup washing techniques with a flannel and a mugful of water didn't attract any interest - today's youth are so clean !
The two hour expected outage grew a bit, and the poor guys fitting the check-valve didn't stop until two in the morning.
