CCF FIELD DAY - TUESDAY, 5TH FEBRUARY 2013
Dear Parents,
You will probably be aware that your son will be away on a CCF Field Day on 5 February. I have included some admin points below which are specific to each Section. However, the general idea is to parade by 0815 with a view to departure soon after 0830. In view of the current temperatures, I suggest that your son wears warm clothing (unobtrusively) under his uniform. All Sections aim to be back in good time for school transport.
ROYAL NAVY SECTION
Visit to HMS Collingwood, Portsmouth .
No. 4 – Working Dress: clean and ironed with polished footwear.
A packed lunch will be provided but an excellent lunch will be available at the Naval base for which c£2 cash will be required on the day. Doubtless your son will need both meals!
ARMY SECTION
Range firing at Pirbright, Surrey .
Full combat kit with beret and clean boots.
Day sack. Waterproofs will be taken in bulk and issued as required.
Packed lunches will be provided.
Most of the training will be outside, so warm under-clothing is essential.
ROYAL AIR FORCE SECTION
Visit to RAF Odiham, Hants with (hopefully) flight in a Chinook helicopter.
Wear Greens with clean boots.
Packed lunches will be provided.
You should have already signed Parental Permission slips for the helicopter flight – if you have not, please let me know soonest otherwise flying will be denied.
We have put together a programme of interesting training and hope that your son will enjoy himself and gain some new experiences.
The list of those attending may change slightly and so I apologise in advance if you have received this letter in error – your son will be able to confirm whether or not he is participating on the day.
As ever, if you have any questions then please do get in touch.
Yours sincerely,
Alan Vasa
Lt Col A Vasa TD MA DipEd
Contingent Commander
