Harvest Festival

You should have seen this by email:

Shiplake College’s Harvest Festival Service will be held on Sunday, 3rd October in the Parish Church at 19.30. This year it is being organised by Skipwith House and you are all warmly invited to attend this Service.

The charity we will support this year will once again be the Reading Drop-in Centre (CIRDIC). This is an organisation run by volunteers from Churches in and around Reading to support the homeless and vulnerable. They offer hot meals, bathing facilities and advice and support on many issues, including accommodation, employment and medical matters. They feed around 60 people daily so are always in great need of donations of food etc. I have spoken to the Manager of the Centre to find out what they are most in need of at the present time and I list the following items which will be of most use to them.

Tomato Ketchup

Brown Sauce (all varieties)

Squash (any flavour)

Biscuits (sweet and savoury)

Tea, coffee and sugar

Pasta

Tinned Food

Toiletries

Or if you prefer, you can make a small donation by cheque payable to ‘CIRDIC’.

Please could you leave any donations of the above items in your son/daughter’s House.

With grateful thanks for your help.
