Mr Brownley, the Resident Tutor next door to us, in Everett House, sent his photo of a snake found crawling up the stairs there. It was released unharmed in the woodland by the river (by the kind Alex Turton).
It may be the same one seen by some Burr families on Saturday.
A good exercise would be to find it's length - it's pictured against an A4 sheet of graph paper.
Grass snakes are often seen around us, and don't eat or even bite boys.
I do have a recipe, for those who enjoy wild food.
