To the tune of “Good King Wenceslas Looked Out”
CHRISTMASTIME IN BURR
Ed Bowers and Nadal looked out
On the feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
JB had gone home by train
In case the frost was cruel
When year nine all came in sight
Gath’ring up the litter
"Jack the lad was at their head
And made them do his bidding
And if he was away some time
The job was Ricky Hatton’s
All round Burr they took their bags
Looking for the ends of fags
Checking all the car parks
Beneath the Sixth Form windows.
"Bring me flesh and bring me wine
Bring me pine logs hither
It’s Wednesday night, and we will order
Giant meat-feast pizza.
Nick and Bryan forth they went,
with a group of juniors
House bank’s empty - never mind
We’ll borrow some from matron.
"Sire, the night is darker now
And the wind blows stronger
Coursework’s due on Monday week
Ed has lost his folder."
"Markus Nolden’s on the Thames,
Beating Fitz’ record
Rossi-Bull is just behind
But Andy’s overtaking."
Samuel Morin’s won a prize,
So has our girl Liza,
Vitor won a running race,
Paul Gao’s learnt some English
Exadactlyos did well
And so did both the Lewis
Year Thirteen have all moved out
They come back for toasties.

We don’t have room for all the names
Burr is full of good guys
Max and Henry,Harry Kim
Arthur Law and Andy,
Tasha Glasby, Katherine J,
And of course Haddeel
Not forgetting Frances Nutt –
All Burr girls are stars
So are tutors, without whom
Prep would be a riot
Happy Christmas then to us,
And a great New Year
Time to pack and time to clear,
Time to hug some trees
And we’ll soon be back again,
In the best House - Burr
