Prize-Giving and Speeches

on Wednesday, 27th June 2012

The Guest Speaker will be Mr Alex Flynn

After being diagnosed with the degenerative disease Parkinson's in 2008, Alex set himself the challenge of covering ten million metres to raise money for research into Parkinson's, for which there is currently no cure.

Alex will be running, cycling, swimming, walking the distance with the aim of raising more than £1,000,000. Highlights so far include the 2010 Marathon des Sables, running more than 135 miles across the Bavarian Alps and in 2011 traversing 1457 miles from London to Rome in 30 days, as well as marathons, Ironman and Olympic Triathlons. Later this year Alex hopes to cross 3500+ miles of the USA in 24 days.
