On Saturday 22nd October an elite group of 16
boys played against all other houses in two teams with outstanding results.
Overall Burr came third and considering that we are a small house we put up a
very strong fight against some bigger houses like Orchard and Skipwith.
Everyone on the team scored at least one try by either
being powerful and running through people or being skilled and side stepping
players. We had a few bumps and bruises after but all the boys who participated
were proud to be part of the squad because we knew that we had done very well
to beat our rivals. I would like to say we had a man of the match but the whole
team put in a huge effort so it would be unfair to single someone out when
every one worked as a unit and came through nearly all matches with our heads
held high. Although we only had seven
minutes to compete against the opposition we were very tired at the end and I
know the boys were very pleased to walk off that pitch knowing they had left an
almighty mark on the supporters and players by being both mentally and physically
strong. On behalf of the whole team I would to say thank you to those
supporting Burr and to our coach Mr Caine who despite wearing shorts and a thin
top stayed out with the team training for two and half hours. I hope you
enjoyed watching or hearing about our team.
