On Thursday night 9 intrepid Year 9 adventurers left Burr house at 17:00 hours to board a boat which took them to a hostile island in the middle of the raging River Thames. When they arrived on the island they were joined by other brave souls from Everett and Welsh houses.
Abandoned on the island with only 5 courageous teacher they had to fend for themselves and build their own shelters for the night. When they had completed their shelters they had to forage for food. After a lot of searching they came across some burgers, sausages, chicken and even some marshmallows which they cooked on some BBQ's handily left on the island by the natives.
They then sat up into the night telling stories around the campfire before retiring to their shelters for the night.
They were thankful for their sturdy shelters in the morning as it had started to rain but the majority of boys had remained dry under their shelters.
They all returned to the safety of Burr House by 7:00am in the morning ready for breakfast and lessons.
Thanks to Mr Fitton, Mr Brownley, Miss Erasmus and Mr MacPherson for joining us on the island.
