YEAR 9 GCSE OPTIONS EVENING
Friday 5th March 2010, 4.00 p.m. - 6.00 p.m.
You are warmly invited to the Year 9 GCSE options evening coming up before the exeat on Friday 5th March 2010 at 4.00 p.m.
The important task of deciding upon your son's GCSE option choices is now well underway. You will have started to discuss choices and probably made some decisions which we hope you will be able to further discuss with heads of department.
The evening is intended to address both current performance and future aspirations. Your son's attendance with you will help to ensure that his entry into GCSE courses is better informed and therefore more exciting. So not only is this options evening an opportunity to chat to the staff who teach your son about his academic progress, but it is also a chance to view current GCSE work and coursework projects, and to discuss course structures. Each department will have available course material and content that will inform you about what to expect during the next two years of his education.
On arrival at 4.00 pm please could you make your way to the Sports Hall. The evening will end at 6.00 pm when you are free to take your son home for the weekend exeat.
We look forward to seeing you. It is helpful for the teachers if we know in advance who will be coming to the meeting. I would be most grateful if you would either email Sue Bond in the school office, or telephone, to confirm your attendance. If we do not hear from you we will assume you cannot make it on this occasion.
